M-1 Studios was proud to be a part of the 1st Annual Motown Macdown for Justin’s Vision this December, held at Dino’s Lounge in Ferndale. We put together an opening video segment where we asked all of the participants to give us some more information on what they planned to cook for the big event, while at the same time possibly adding in a little competitive smack talk along the way. Cliff Bell’s, The Rattlesnake Club, Slows To Go, Forest Grill, The Hungry Dudes, and Garden Fresh Gourmet all lent their talents to be a part of what will now be a great annual event to support an important cause in kids’ lives.
Here’s our opening video, as well as the blog entry from Garden Fresh Gourmet that captures a bigger overview of the entire event.

Thanks to everyone who organized and participated in this event, as well as all of the supporters who came out and enjoyed the amazing mac & cheese offerings. We’ll see you there next year!

Our friends at Motor City Blights Busters will be hosting their annual “Angels Night Out” dinner and patrol on Saturday, October 30th at the Resource Center. Doors open at 5:00 pm, dinner served at 6:00 pm. At 7:00 pm Blight Busters will be celebrating the Grand Opening of the Motor City Java House across the street from the Resource Center where coffee/dessert will be served. Neighborhood patrols will begin at 8:00 pm.
For those of you who remember or have read the news articles, Detroit used to have a serious rash of arson and fires that occurred all around the city every Halloween. Numerous news agencies from across the country would report on these annual occurrences that came to be known as “Devil’s Night”. John George and the members of Motor City Blight Busters came together to form their annual “Angels Night” patrols to combat the issue head-on. As a direct result of their work, Halloween Eve and night for Detroit has turned into a positive experience for the city and its residents.
If you’re not familiar with all the great work that Motor City Blight Busters does, watch the video below that we put together with the support of Urban Detroit Wholesalers:

We just wanted to take a moment to thank the organizers of the 2010 Arts, Beats & Eats Festival for putting on such a great event in Royal Oak! Over four days of filming over the Labor Day holiday weekend, we got to meet lots of artists, musicians, friends and new acquaintances! Many of you came up seeing our “M-1 Studios Film Crew” tshirts and said hello!
We’ll be putting together video segments highlighting all the sights and sounds of the festival over the next coming months. Until then, here are a few preview videos from segments we posted during the weekend of the festival.

As the City of Royal Oak gears up to host its first-ever Arts, Beats & Eats — Oakland County’s favorite summer festival — M-1 Studios is pleased to announce that the company is the Official Video Sponsor for the event.
Currently in its third year of business in the greater Detroit area, M-1 Studios focuses on helping businesses and organizations create effective commercial video productions as a part of their marketing, both in traditional formats such as television, as well as newer social media outlets. M-1 Studios uses high-definition cameras and specialized audio equipment in all of their documentary productions.
As part of their association with the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce, M-1 Studios was introduced to the Arts, Beats & Eats management team as they transitioned moving the festival from Pontiac to Royal Oak. M-1 Studios’ extensive background in event coverage and professionalism in the video production realm were key factors in the decision to choose M-1 Studios as the Official Videographer for the entire festival this year. The M-1 Studios office will be the main meeting point for their team of experienced camera operators, producers and interviewers that will be covering each day of the festival.
M-1 Studios will be present for all four days of Arts, Beats & Eats. There will be a focus on the artists that are a part of the festival, the sponsors of the event, and the vendors that will be supplying the amazing and diverse line-up of food and events. Most importantly, there will be a focus on those attending the festival and capturing their experience.
“M-1 Studios is excited about the opportunity to document the energy, fun and excitement that the 2010 Arts, Beats & Eats festival brings to the 2010 Labor Day Weekend here in Michigan,” said Matthew Peach, President, M-1 Studios. “We will strive to incorporate an overview and diversity of the festival’s offerings in entertainment, culture and food service with the upcoming video productions.”
